As a flower farmer, this bridal shower arrangement feels like it was gathered straight from a late-spring field—loose, romantic, and full of movement.

The soft blush roses (the only blooms I did not grow myself) anchor the design with warm, creamy peach tones. Everything else comes straight from my gardens and fields—delphinium in soft sky blues, deep violet iris, fragrant lilac, lupine, and ranunculus in glowing apricot and peach. White narcissus and other delicate spring blooms weave through like little flashes of light, adding brightness and texture.

Designed in a low compote vessel, the arrangement is intentionally asymmetrical and meadow-like, with stems drifting and reaching in different directions. Veronica and delphinium add height and a gentle wildness, while eucalyptus softens and grounds the piece.

The palette—blush, lavender, blue, peach, and white—feels like spring distilled into a single moment: soft, feminine, and timeless, with just a hint of wildness around the edges.

A perfect piece for a bridal shower, celebrating love, new beginnings, and everything still unfolding. 💐

This week I was told a story about Julius and his kind heart.

His wife shared that he never let her pull out the Johnny-jump-ups growing in the cracks and unexpected places around their home. While many people see them as weeds, Julius saw their beauty and believed they deserved a place to bloom.

It seems fitting, because Johnny-jump-ups never seem to mind the cracks in the sidewalk—they return year after year, bringing small reminders of beauty, resilience, and hope.

Sometimes the smallest flowers tell the biggest stories about a person's character.

Even though I was honored to create all of the memorial flowers for Julius's service, somehow making this small "veteran colored" bouquet with using Polish Poppy, locally grown flowers and Johnny-jump-ups, inspired by a special family story, feels like an even greater honor. Being entrusted with the flowers is meaningful, but being entrusted with a memory is something truly special.

In memory of Julius Kaczmarowski, a life—and a kindness—that will not be forgotten.

One of the things I love most about flower farming is creating bouquets for all of life's moments. Whether it's celebrating a birthday, welcoming a new baby, offering comfort during a time of loss, or simply sharing flowers "just because," each bouquet carries its own special meaning. Every stem is harvested with care, and it's an honor to be part of both the joyful and tender moments in people's lives.

I'd love to share what's happening on the flower farm with you—from the first blooms of spring to the last flowers of fall, along with growing tips, bouquet updates, and a few stories from the field. When Rose Marie's family requested no roses, no red flowers—only garden flowers, they wanted something that reflected her gentle spirit and love of the garden. Their only special request was simple and heartfelt: "Can you use lilacs and tulips? They were Mom's favorite."

The casket spray was designed entirely with the beauty of the garden in mind. Soft lavender lilacs weave throughout the arrangement, filling it with the sweet fragrance of spring. Local grown, elegant tulips dance above the flowers, their graceful stems creating movement and a sense of lightness. Blush pink chrysanthemums provide fullness and texture, while blue delphinium (special request from a daughter), peonies, flowering amaranth, and delicate seasonal blooms add layers of color and interest.

Rather than the traditional reds and roses often seen in funeral flowers, this arrangement feels as though it was gathered from a beloved cottage garden at the height of spring. The soft shades of pink, lavender, plum, and blue create a peaceful and comforting tribute—one that celebrates a life well lived and a woman who found joy in the simple beauty of flowers.

A final gift of lilacs and tulips for Rose Marie, lovingly gathered from the garden she would have adored.

"Ragged Robin" sounds like the name of a mischievous storybook character, but it’s actually one of the sweetest wildflowers in the garden. With its soft pink, fringed petals that look a little “ragged,” this cottage-garden beauty dances in the breeze and adds a whimsical touch to the flower beds.

It may not be the loudest bloom in the field, but Ragged Robin quietly steals the show with its delicate charm and ability to attract pollinators all summer long. A little wild, a little untamed… and all the more beautiful because of it.

Follow along through the seasons with stories from the field, what’s blooming each week, behind-the-scenes moments from the farm, flower growing tips, bouquet releases, and upcoming events. From muddy boots to beautiful blooms, you’ll get a little glimpse into farm life delivered right to your inbox.

Being a flower farmer means watching the weather forecast like it’s breaking news. One minute you’re admiring the delicate details of the columbine, and the next it’s 80 degrees and everyone in the garden is acting like summer arrived three weeks early.
The columbine almost looks too delicate to be real — soft watercolor petals, little spurred backs, and veins that glow when the sun shines through them. They dance in the breeze like tiny lanterns floating through the garden.

And today? They’re holding on through 80-degree weather while the flower farmer is out there watering, hauling hoses, and quietly begging spring flowers not to think it’s July already, especially the ranunculus and peonies!
