We design and make our products in Upcountry Maui, using materials we source from Hawai’i. What does pau hana mean?

Upcountry Aloha creates quick-dry ponchos and one-of-a-kind “Comf’is” designed for ocean life, adventure, and pure comfort—crafted/designed in Maui with a lot of Aloha Our Pau hana ponchos and comf’is are hand-constructed from towels and blankets of various thicknesses to accommodate the high heat of south Maui as wells as the frigid conditions at the top of Haleakala. Synonymous with happy hour,

pau hana is Hawaiian Pidgin slang for being finished with work — using the word pau, to finish, and hana, to work, in Hawaiian. Pau hana is more than just a happy hour; it’s all about making the decision to leave work behind for the day and enjoy your free time. Whether you’re finished working, surfing, scuba diving or simply swimming, you will love relaxing in one of our pau hana ponchos and robes. With its roomy sizes, it’s having your own private changing room and much more.
