Martin's Church is committed to the local community and participates in several outreach programs. The thrift shop is a long-standing tradition selling men and women’s gently used clothes, accessories and shoes, housewares, cookware, bedding, and more! We gratefully accept donations.

First vacation stop? Housing Works - stopping by there on National Thrift Shop Day! (Who knew?). Of course our time off is being spent on a busman’s holiday. We wouldn’t have it any other way! If you have a favorite thrift shop that we shouldn’t miss, let us know in the comments.

Meanwhile, we are checking in on the very capable Goslings. New donations are arriving daily - we are ever grateful for the generosity of our donors. Drop off items weekday daytime hours, last doorway of St. Martin’s church down Orchard Place, off 50 Orchard Avenue. With our thanks.

We’re packed and ready to fly as soon as our shop closes this Saturday afternoon at 2pm. We’ll be on vacation, but the Goslings will be hard at work!

The Thrifty Goose shop is closed for a little break through September 9th — but donation drop-off is still very much open! Our goslings are here sorting, steaming, and triaging everything you bring us.

And while you’re gathering donations for the Goose, go ahead and start setting aside items for our upcoming Estate Sale too! Two great causes, one trip to the car.

What to bring:

Packing for vacation = 4 beach towels, 2 pairs of “good” feathers, and all decisions made. Meanwhile our goslings will be holding down the fort back home, taking donations while we’re off in the sun. See you tomorrow, Saturday, for one last shop!

❌ A fifth beach towel (you only need four)
❌ Guilt about leaving the shop — the goslings have donation drop-offs covered!
❌ Sensible shoes

And probably neither this Mary McFadden dress or the red sequined jacket! Although one never knows what might come up.

Rainy days and Mondays. . . Perfect for digging into drawers and the back of the closet for clothing that just might be ready for a second life -donated to the Goose and thankfully received. One of the items always welcome no matter the season are jeans, particularly for men. From your closet to the sorting table then off to support the men of Harrington House, what may no longer fit or suit gets new life for someone in our community.
