She is co-founder of the Morningside String Trio and is an eager collaborator who has worked with ensembles such as the Leora Chamber Orchestra, MuSE String Quartet, and the New Triad for Collaborative Arts Project. Stenson brings a focus to creating an environment that develops high sensibilities in her students. She uses a curriculum with individualized instruction addressing strong technique, repertoire, and musicality. In the New York City area, she has been on the Suzuki faculty at Lucy Moses School, Silver Music, and Suzuki on the Island. As a teaching artist, Ms. Stenson has presented at The Children’s Storefront, Mott Hall II, and Cedar Island Elementary Schools. She has been an adjudicator for NYSSMA, a state-wide competition, and is experienced with students working towards competitions. Stenson has coaching experience with the Osseo Senior High Symphony Orchestra, District 279 Summer Music Camp, Great Neck Music Conservatory, and The School for Strings. She maintained a private teaching studio at Anderson Music Academy while she was residing in Minnesota and now continues her teaching studio, 10,000 Times Studio, in Hudson Heights, Manhattan. She completed her Suzuki Long-Term Teacher Training Certification at The School for Strings with Pamela Devenport. Stenson holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in Orchestral Performance under the direction of Alan Stepansky and a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from the University of Minnesota studying with Tanya Remenikova and Joseph Johnson. Stenson enjoys residing in New York City with her 2005 David Caron cello, which she calls Dmitri.
