It is with great sadness that I have to say that our sweet Jenny Linsky passed away at 10:30 this morning. A friend found Jenny by the expressway in Evansville 10 years ago and brought her to me. She has lived in the store ever since, joined by Pyewacket, her sister from another rescue. Jenny loved to greet customers and was very fond of pets, pats, and especially head bumps. Her rumbling purr could be heard across in the back of the store. Brianna, Pyewacket, and I are going to miss our Sweet Jenny. Run free, sweetheart, there is no more pain.

UPDATE on Jenny:

She has FIV, no cure, but we can treat the symptoms. She's getting loaded down with an antibiotic shot, subQ fluids, and a daily steroid. And lots of extra loving.

Fans of Jenny Linsky & Pyewacket, we need your prayers for Jenny. She has lost over 5 lbs in the past few weeks and something is going on. We're at the vets now getting blood work done. There are several possibilities that we're hoping the blood work will answer. I'll keep you posted when I know more.

Censorship is so 1984.

Today kicks off , an annual observation started more than 40 years ago in response to a sudden surge in the number of book challenges in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Sound familiar?

George Orwell’s cautionary tale '1984' warns us about the dangers of censorship. This year’s Banned Books Week theme reminds us that the right to read belongs to all of us, that censorship has no place in contemporary society, and that we must defend our rights.
