Whether you are 26 or 56 like me, we all need the same ingredients for thriving in our movement. Mobility, strength, and functional intelligence keep our joints supple, our transitions agile, and our bodies capable of moving in a variety of ways.
And just like brushing your teeth, movement hygiene needs your daily attention. If you are stuck in a rut, start small and aim for shorter doses of movement.

Highly recommend training a family member to not move until you stretch. 😅

This tiny pause in the morning isn’t about the stretch as much as it is about the moment, to take a few breaths & ground in your body.
A small reminder that before the emails, responsibilities, caretaking, and rushing, there is YOU.
Over the last 30 years of working with people, I’ve learned that many of us are conditioned to place ourselves last on the list of people and things we care for.

So take a pause and prioritize yourself.
You deserve that moment too. 🤍

Getting up from the floor is not just functional; it’s necessary, especially as we age. I have worked with new people who tell me they don’t get on the floor often. It’s never too late to start!
Practicing part of a is an excellent way to work the core, brain, and connection of legs into pelvis. Try and keep the long leg side from lifting off the floor by pressing down into the floor with both hand and leg. Lower with control to train the deceleration. Lmk how it feels for you! 💪

Moving like this at 56 isn’t about being extreme; it’s about understanding your body a little better. As a physical therapist & founder of , I have seen thousands of people not just execute movement, but finally learn the HOW in performing quality movement.

That “sexy thing” called biomechanics just means learning how to move in a way that actually supports you.
Less strain, more strength, more freedom & vitality-> biomechanics is your superpower to get there!

Comment HIPHINGE to learn one of the essential building blocks of biomechanics. 🙂
