I get quite a few Marlin 336 rifles that require shortening the barrels to 16 ½”. The front barrel band needs to be enlarged to fit the larger taper of the barrel when moved back. I got tired of grinding those things out with a sanding drum on a Dremel tool. Usually takes the better part of an hour to get them right. Fabricated a little fixture this morning, takes all of 5 minutes to set them up and enlarge them to the proper size. Time is money!

This Re*****on 700, .270 caliber came in the shop with a bulge and a split place at the end of the barrel. Stock and bluing were well worn, I’m sure it has seen a lot of use, and I can just imagine the stories it could tell! Customer wanted it rebarreled as it held a lot of sentimental value. I selected a Douglas Barrels 1-10 twist SS #002 profile barrel. When I tested this rifle I just couldn’t believe how well it shot. Customer was extremely happy to get his rifle back before deer season and I’m glad I had a part in returning this great old rifle to the field!
