Two day trips this week to beautiful Chestnut Hill, PA! This Thursday and Saturday you can find me at Laëte, both days 11-5pm. I love shopping in Chestnut Hill, so many great stores and is pure style - classic, fresh and so welcoming. I bought a beautiful Tracy Reese top there and could absolutely wear it every day. I felt special wearing it and I’m excited to add a few more pieces for a Spring refresh. I will have my recent vintage wood hearts, gold and silver chain hearts and stars, and mixed gemstone pieces. Brand new stretch bracelets and I’ll do what I can to get you accessorized for this year’s semiquincentennial. I’ve been preparing for this year’s fireworks so how can I not bring a flag belt to Philly? Most exciting is pairing my bead strands with the beautiful ceramic fish by local artist Ginger Mimmo Rohlfing. Her colors are just right and I love them.

It’ll be a lovely day to do just about anything tomorrow in Princeton - sporting events (lacrosse, rowing, softball for starters), the new university museum, pink and yellow blooms everywhere and of course just enjoying the town itself. If you need a breather, swing by Graduate Princeton for a little Spring Style - jewelry, beautiful vintage clutches, sweet treats, and a mini gift shop of tiger swag. It will be grrrreat to see you!

The love continues…sourcing, polishing and working these beautiful wood hearts into new designs in preparation for a couple upcoming pop-ups. Most of the wood beads come from a small family farm in the Philippines. Mixing the wood with a variety of stone, shell and glass beads highlights their natural beauty. Each heart is unique in shape and texture which adds to the fun of pairing them with the right beads.

Hop to it! Spring and the Easter Bunnies have arrived. These sweet necklaces are 16-18” and made with gorgeous handknotted rose quartz, morganite, and freshwater pearls. Layered or solo, you are ready for sweetness! Only five left. DM for details.

Hearts. I love making valentines mostly because I love cutting hearts out of pretty paper. I recently visited my mom and made a side trip to Michael’s to get paper and good scissors. For some reason the scissors are locked up in the craft section but not in the fabric and sewing aisle. I think they’re still working out the kinks of filling the void left by the Joann fabric store closings. Anyway, it was so relaxing just sitting with my mom cutting out heart after heart and filling her lap with them. She never asked why but carefully held them for me. Years ago we made chocolate heart shaped cookies and then dipped them halfway in a white glaze. I’ve got to try those again. I don’t usually use hearts in my pieces but thought I’d give it a go this year. More to come as pendants.

Finally some time to focus on the extra touches around the house. Evergreens are my favorite way to decorate wreaths, mantels, doorways and planters. My mom was the queen of adding a sprig of this or that to anything, elevating the seasonal flair for free. I get kidded a lot for collecting pine cones, drift wood, shells, sticks, stones and whatnot from my adventures but I generally have something in mind for where it all goes. WHEN it goes is another story…hope you’re enjoying your own traditions whether they’re for everyone or just for you.

Day Three in the books. Princeton was in full-on holiday shop ‘til you drop mode today. Lots of friendly and familiar faces, thank you for coming by to shop and chat. One more day to go, probably the coldest one in our four years. Once I catch my breath, I’ll update my Etsy listings. If you’re local, let me know if you need anything and I can hand deliver in time for Christmas.
