Alexa, “Play ‘Closing Time’”

Years ago when we first opened, it was hard to get folks to leave and we’d play ‘Closing Time’ to hurry them along. “You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here” became the battle cry of the evening shift worker.

It was hard for us to leave tonight. We stayed well past closing time- a small group of current and former employees, a dedicated customer or two and we locked up for the last time. “Time for you to go out to the places you will be from.”

We will miss you all so much and hope you know that each of you changed our lives. You’ve helped us create community with a group of unlikely people in an unlikely space. Please continue to find spaces and make community. It’s so important and necessary- now more than ever.

Thank you. It just doesn’t seem like enough to encapsulate what we are all left with after last night. To each and every person that came, we love yall and are so grateful to know you. Everyone took pictures and videos which we’ll post in the coming days. Dont forget! We’re still open until the 30th so come buy our stuff!

We would also like to give a super special thank you to Sugar Magnolia's Café & Catering for the amazing cake they made for our funeral. We appreciate you so much. Maybe now we’ll have time to come by for lunch. 🫶🏻

We left off with Elizabeth with her 1-star and said we were “Fancy” but this guy, although he gave us a 4-star review gave us some ideas on how to earn a 5th star from him.
