Hello to all of our followers—both longtime friends and those who have just discovered us. I’m Aileen, and it felt like the perfect time to introduce (or reintroduce) myself.
Florian began in 2018 as a small home-based floral studio. Before long, it grew into a storefront—more out of necessity than intention—and it has been a wonderfully wild journey ever since.
My love of flowers started when I was young, but I didn’t begin designing professionally until my late twenties. That’s when I discovered flowers as an artistic medium, much like paint, clay, or pastels. I fell in love with the idea of creating something beautiful that exists only for a fleeting moment—a living work of art that brings joy, offers comfort, celebrates milestones, and expresses emotions when words alone aren’t enough.
That passion led me to study floral design, where I discovered just how deep this craft truly is. My background in art continues to influence every arrangement I create.
Being a florist is something I take seriously—although Mother Nature has a wonderful way of reminding us that she always has the final say. Floral design is built on the same artistic principles found in other visual arts: color harmony, texture, composition, line, form, movement, balance, and space. It isn’t simply plopping flowers in a vase or tying together a bouquet. Every stem is chosen and every design decision is intentional.
At the heart of every arrangement is a single purpose: to tell your story. Whether you’re celebrating, grieving, apologizing, encouraging, or simply reminding someone they’re loved, the flowers become a physical expression of what you’re feeling.
That’s why, here at Florian, they are never “just flowers.”
They’re a connection between you and someone you care about. They carry your thoughts, your memories, your gratitude, your love. Being trusted with that is something we never take lightly.
Thank you for allowing us to create for your most meaningful moments. It truly is an honor.
