I’m here to talk about the evolution of Bougie because everyone loves a “started from the bottom 🎧🎤… and clawed, hustled, begged, and pleaded my way to be where we are today” story!
I’ll spare all the late night reruns and how 2.5 years ago it was just a side gig, because that’s all true. But with a few walls and a serious heart to heart with my BRAND NEW HUSBAND, víola… Bougie enters the chat. I’m pretty sure I took more convincing than he did that this was a good idea because I appreciate my naps. I knew giving up what little spare time we had between 4 kids would be difficult, especially dedicating it to a whole business… not just one of those “send me your venmo” type either. Like a real licensed, insured, ®️, all the things.
Fast forward… literally just blink… that fast… 💨
Here we are today, not even just through March yet and our successes this year have far outweighed anything we could have DREAMED of! I will ALWAYS continue to say “we” because these aren’t just my successes, they’re all of ours; every client, every vendor, friend, child laborer in my house, every single one of you who have shared or played some part in Bougie’s story. These successes are attributed to each of you in some way. If WE didn’t stay humble, we wouldn’t keep striving to be better than the rest. We wouldn’t be satisfied with March 16, 2026. We wouldn’t keep pushing and continuing to grow, pushing beyond our competitors and be the best in the industry in our little nook of the world 🌎 because it’s tough out here in these skreets! There are people who absolutely do not want you to succeed and want you to fail. And that’s what keeps Bougie pushing harder and striving to be even better. We don’t play that… it just fuels my fire 🔥
What is so hard is that we can’t share several HUGE wins for our little company with you yet… but we cannot wait to announce all that we have done so far this year and will continue to do in 2026… because it’s home run after home run 🤍 I am nervous for 2027 because I’ve done this much in 2026, I may just quit in December 🙆🏻♀️ go out with a bang!
