They wanted something personal. Something green and natural that reflected his love of camping, fishing, the outdoors. So I made his funeral arrangement in a tackle box and filled it with moss, rosemary (for remembrance), and live plants that could be replanted and live on past the service.

Thank you for the stories. Thank you for the honor. I’m thrilled to know next time you go fishing he will be right there with you.

Ready for the next BrewTeaFul Bienvenue & Botanicals event with Swann’s End Flowers?

Join us this Sat, June 13 to celebrate the upcoming summer solstice with a charming brunch by 1933 Catering at Powhatan’s historic Bienvenue (you’ve always been curious about this place). Afterwards, Swann’s End Flowers will share all about harvesting, preparing, and preserving fresh cut flowers for the longest vase life. We will then each arrange locally grown Swann’s End flowers in a vintage teapot for you to take home.

Bienvenue, Swann’s End Flowers, and 1933 Catering have joined forces to create the Bienvenue & Botanicals series which includes an amazing brunch in Powhatan’s historic Bienvenue and a hands on floral workshop hosted by Swann’s End.

Next up is this Sat, June 13 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. To celebrate the upcoming summer solstice, we are serving a seasonal brunch and a workshop on how to harvest and process locally grown fresh cut flowers for the longest vase life. Afterwards, participants will create their own floral arrangement in a tea pot.
