I wanted to show how you can help yourself compensate around designs on the canvas. I compensated around the rocking horse by taking a contrasting thread from my stash and continued the background stitch through the tail and other parts of the horse. This allowed me to continue the background easily. I then removed the contrasting thread. I hope this helps. Happy stitching!
