We are so happy to celebrate our very own Newbery Winner- Donna Barba Higuera - and her new novel , Firesnake. Donna’s trilogy, which began with The Last Cuentista, blends Mexican folklore and science fiction into something quite unique and beautiful. Teachers and librarians, this is a great chance to meet Donna. She’ll be in conversation with store owner, Suzanne Selfors. The event is free but if you go to our website and purchase a book, we will reserve you a seat.

Sometimes we forget to take photos of all the local authors who stop by the store but this morning we remembered! Hello who wrote A Wild and Heavenly Place - a wonderful novel about frontier Seattle. And hello who wrote a collection of underwater stories called Unfathomable- for young readers. We love our local authors.
