Last fall I had to drop everything to help a sick parent, and I’m so grateful I was able to do that. 🩷 Everything is healthy and happy now and we are so grateful for my mom’s amazing recovery.🙏

But months later, the fallout from that crazy season is still showing up in the dahlias. Every new mislabel brings a little bit of that stressful chapter back, and it’s been easy to feel defeated.

Then something blooms exactly as it should, and it feels like a little win every single time. 🙌🏼✨

And I remember why I grow these beauties and put up with all the stress and drama. They’re pretty darn magical. The garden is my happy place. 💐

From the Wild Vine collection ✨

Over the years, I’ve collected more than 150 vintage china dinner plates for Wild Vine weddings and events. I’ve always loved the collected look of mismatched vintage china and the way layers of florals, colors and patterns can transform a table into something far more elevated, cohesive and memorable.

All of my treasures were found over years of searching flea markets, estate sales, secondhand shops, garage sales and online. I’m finally ready to part with some of the collection and have gathered them into thoughtfully curated sets of 12.

Four curated collections are pictured here, with several more available.

Perfect for weddings, showers, garden parties, intimate celebrations, or simply creating a beautifully collected table at home. All pieces are in lovely vintage condition, with only the subtle signs of age and use that come with their history.

To my dear and valued dahlia customers:

I need to own a mistake from last season.

Over the past couple of days, I’ve heard from two people who purchased tubers or cuttings from me that have bloomed as the wrong variety. So far, I know that some Giovanna were actually Ferncliff Starlight, and a Jowey Lunel cutting that I gave to a friend was actually Bloomquist Pleasing.

There may be others, and I want to address that now rather than wait for someone else to discover a mistake and have to come to me.

First and foremost, I am truly sorry.

Accurate identification is a huge part of what you’re trusting me with when you buy a variety from Wild Vine, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I had a tough Fall season with a family emergency and clearly made some mistakes during that time. Regardless of how they happened, these mistakes are mine alone to own.

If you purchased a tuber or cutting from me that has bloomed incorrectly, please send me a message with the variety you purchased and, if possible, a photo. I will identify it for you and happily refund you or give you credit toward next season, whichever you prefer.

This isn’t the standard I expect from myself or want associated with Wild Vine. I hope you know that this was an unusual season for us and not the norm. Most importantly, I want you to know that if I make a mistake, I will always own it and make it right.

Thank you for trusting me with your gardens and happy growing. ♥️

** UPDATE**

Apparently some Hapet Coppery was Le Thoureil. Hoping that’s an amazing surprise and you did a happy dance. Although I’m a little concerned about Le Thoureil being something else then? I know that many people received the correct Le Thoureil because they have kindly tagged me in posts.

Regardless, just message me please if your variety is incorrect. I will take care of you.

You can message me through Facebook or email at [email protected] ♥️

This has been a long time coming.

Over the years I’ve answered countless questions about growing dahlias. Just this past weekend, I found myself at my son’s baseball game helping another parent troubleshoot their plants. It reminded me how often the same questions come up each spring.

There is a lot of information available about growing dahlias, but it can also be confusing. Sometimes advice contradicts itself, and sometimes it simply isn’t clear enough for a new grower to know what to do next.

So I created a Growing Guide. 💐

Built from years of growing experience at Wild Vine Flower Co., it covers everything from planting through harvest, with hand-drawn illustrations inspired by a gardener’s notebook.

Whether you’re planting your first tuber or your fiftieth, I hope you’ll find something helpful inside.

Happy growing,

The garden gate is about to close on our 2026 Garden Speakeasy sale. ✨

I just added a late season restock with some hard-to-find favorites, floral design workhorses that bloom their hearts out all summer, and many remaining varieties now marked down for the final days of the season.

If you’ve had your eye on a few special varieties, this is likely the best pricing and last chance before the season officially comes to a close.

Everything currently listed will remain available through Monday evening, May 18, and all orders will ship Tuesday. Flat rate shipping is $10.

Then that’s it until next season.

I’ve made the bouquets for senior night for years, across multiple sports and schools. It’s always such a fun, special event.
This year was a little more special and definitely more emotional because it was my own senior walking the field. 🥹🩷💐🌟

Hi everyone 🌟-

A quick UPDATE for those who opted for spring rooted cuttings as replacements for their unrooted cuttings from the fall sale.

I began waking all of the tubers for cuttings in early January. As you all know, they need to push eyes and produce viable shoots before I can take cuttings, and some varieties just take their time getting there, even in ideal conditions.

For example, Bracken Accord, which I know many of you are waiting on, is just now forming eyes. She’s being a huge diva this year, so cuttings from that variety will naturally be a little behind… perhaps that’s why she’s such a unicorn. On the flip side, varieties like Murmure have been total overachievers and are already well underway.

I expect to have most varieties ready to go starting mid-April. I’ll be reaching out throughout the week to email each of you with what I expect to have available within the next four weeks, and what may take a bit longer, potentially into May.

From there, you can decide what you’d prefer. If you’d like to wait for your specific varieties, I so appreciate your patience. If you’d prefer a refund instead, that is absolutely fine as well.

Thank you again for your support and understanding. Growing always comes with a bit of unpredictability, and I’m doing everything I can to get these to you as soon as they’re ready.

Sarah 🌸🩷
