We take lost, forgotten and neglected toys, give them a warm bath and a hot meal, then send them back out into the world again, via flea markets and roadshows in New York’s Hudson Valley. Vagabond Toys began as Toyz Will Be Toyz in 2010 at our first flea market on Route 44 in Poughkeepsie, New York. Who knew that what began as a part-time gig for a college student and her mom, would grow into a lo
ve for fixing things, and a lifelong quest to finding a good home for these vagabonds. Even though college is now behind us, and some have moved on to bigger things (and a full time job), our love for toys continues to grow. From the sale of these refurbished and vintage toys, we take a portion of all profits and buy new toys –along with some of the best of our re-loved toys– to be donated to unadopted and needy children in our local area. In 2012, we adopted two families, and assisted with the adoption of three others, helping Santa to find his way to fourteen children. in the years to follow we have helped to keep the magic of christmas alive for many more.
