E.J Loewen Watch, Clock & Jewelry Co was started by Erich E. Loewen in 1964 in Portland, OR. Erich was a Mennonite Immigrant from Paraguay who had learned the art of watch making at the age of 13. His first Location in Portland was inside of the Fred Meyer Store off Hawthorne Blvd. (This had never been done before, watch repair and jewelry inside a supermarket.) Quickly customers were lining up fo

r expert watch & clock repair daily at his tiny stall. Following the success of Erich’s first location, He decided to move into the brand new Washington Square Mall across town and open a larger, more spacious store with watches, Clocks & jewelry. From there locations in Jantzen Beach Mall, And Vancouver Mall followed in the later years. In 1993, Erich closed his last store and decided to focus on repair services to those in the trade and existing clients. During that time, he passed on his passion and love of jewelry to his son Joseph & his wife Julia. After over 10 years of working for two major jewelry retailers, Joseph & Julia join Erich Loewen to carry on a lasting tradition of giving their customers the best service and finding them one of kind jewelry & timepieces.
