Mae by made this adorable purse charm from wool scrap and thimbles. I love it so much I switch it to my purse of the day every time. I think they’d also look cute as earrings or a short bolo style necklace. We’ve chatted about a scrap flower installation at but both being busy women we’ll see if we have enough energy by end of summer. I know to watch Mae whenever she has material in front of her bc she’s going to come up with something so creative and different than where my brain would go. You need to these type of friends in your group to keep yourself elevated and always thinking differently 💛🧠🌈

Building skills at ! Worked on some drawstring pants and decided to add a top from with some alterations like drawstring sleeves and a cute little collar. Made some sewing friends and decided to keep going. Sergers are next! Summer sewing fun 🌈☀️

Fair to say things are weird right now. I've decided to hold back on events that had been planned for the Spring and Summer. Energy is off with everyone and maybe this is a season of conserving what we have. So for now, we're going to postpone the charity sew for when the weather brings people back indoors. If anyone feels like sewing a pillowcase, I'm happy to have you over to my house and we can sew in my studio one evening. For now, I'm sending you love and here if you ever want to sew together.

Most of you know I work a daytime job that has me starting at 6:30 am so by the time 5:00 pm rolls around my brain is toast. And the only people getting me out past 7:00 will be if Dolly, Kacey, Miranda, Brandi, Stevie or Florence herself asking me out! Switching from 'day-job mode' to 'maker mode' takes a minute so I'm pretty strict with how I am spending my hours at night by pre-planning my hours everyday. Sometimes that means that time is just admiring the latest batch we've created. Seeing them stacked up with all the pretty patterns.

I don't usually have time to do much after work—usually, it's just me and a pile of thread snips or a pile of the next project. But I do love looking at this picture of .nichole petting her horse, making me wish I had a horse in my backyard!!

Last year Kate and I got matching cowgirl boots in pink and teal. I love pretty and delicate things but they can't be too precious that they can't be worn outside.

That’s why I’m pretty picky about the leather I use on these bag bottoms. And when It has to be able to handle a little dust and the occasional scuff from being thrown around. I love how this turquoise pair looks with the wool, but I love even more that I don't have to 'baby' any of it. It’s meant to be lived in, not just safe in your closet. Life is too short to not use the pretty stuff!!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the women I love as I pack up the last of the Mother’s Day orders. You know the ones. It's Mom, Auntie Carla, all my girlfriends in the pictures and so many more that I'll never have enough time to photograph 💛.

I think that’s why I get in my head about making sure these bags are durable and secondly, beautiful. For durability, I can literally hear one of my girlfriends from high school say, "Aaaaahh, I don't have time for this," if something breaks as she's pushing her two boys out the door. For naturally beautiful, I think of the ladies always asking me how I want their hair and makeup to look when they model. My answer is always, "I want it to look like you", because they are effortlessly beautiful to me.

To all the moms, the mother-figures, and the women who are out there showing up for themselves and their community every day—I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Happy Mother's Day 💛

You know I design with Mom always on my mind. She's going to say, "I'm so rough on my bags I don't want to carry anything too fancy." Those seams are sewn with bonded nylon offering highest level of strength and durability. The rivets are smashed pieces of metal! The leather is going to out perform any plastic purse that you pick up. I know most of us aren't dragging our purses into the barn after work but you are tossing them in the backseat with the kids soccer cleats, scraping them across the crumbs on the counter and dropping it on the dog when she jumps up. My life is full of dust, chaos, and movement—and my bags can withstand that. I design for the woman (Mom) who needs her gear to be non-fussy, whether she’s in a boardroom or a barn. 📸
