A quick update. We're in new digs...finally. We are at 200 Anderson St., in portland, maine. New phones also; 207 7720082. Call us for appointment for repairs. To shop boats/gear, no appointment needed but call if you can to be safe. We've doubled our space to accomodate all the repairs that seem to come our way. We've got four boats that we salvaged from the fire. The four are in need of cosmetic repairs etc. We will sell those based on best offer but go big as the boats are excellent. We are excited about being in the new digs, just down from Cycle Mania and a bunch of the breweries. Cool area. We're at bare bones at the moment BUT expect new boats early May as well as paddles, gear etc. over the next 45 days or so. We'll keep you posted here. Thanks for all the love and support. Took us awhile after the fire but we're back.

NEW SPACE; FOUND SOME. Working on the lease now. Hopefully we're in by April 1 more or less. It is in a hip section of Portland but not the Old Port. More to come. Watch this space. Can't go too far as I don't want to jinx the negotiationss. Fingers crossed.

Here's an update on restoring our fire devastated digs. We are waiting on the City re: Permits etc. Essentially we are at their mercy. i had hoped to reopen by June with informal opening in May (this coming.) It now appears really iffy.

So, as much as I was trying to avoid a second location, seems like the prudent thing to do is get something open sooner rather than later.

We're asking for help. The criteria are pretty simple.
Size; 20' x40' with a ceiling height of 12' or better. We'd like sufficent access to be able to move kayaks in and out without struggling. The most optimal situation is something that has a garage door type load in load out. A bit of space in front for parking. Finally, reasonably close to downtown Old Port area but we'll look at most anything. At this point the situation if quite fluid so a lease month to month would be best, written or handshake is fine.

If anyone knows of something or has some thoughts, please email us at [email protected] or call me on my cell =1 914 310 0744

We did manage to salvage five boats. Once the snow and ice thaws we're going to clean them up and put them on sale. We're ordering replacement gear for the burned up paddles, pfds, etc. etc. So the need for a place to work from is high on the priority list.

Lastly, much love to you all. Your support is what is causing us to reopen as if and when.

A few days ago we suffered along with our wharf neighbors a catastrophic fire, which but for the amazing efforts of Portland Fire Department and others could have been a lot worse. The outpouring of offers of help, especially from our fellow kayers and the maritime community and friends has been nothing short of extraordinary. It makes me so proud.
At the moment we expect PFD will finish its work mid week and we'll be allowed back in to start the rebuilding process along with our landlord and others. But for perhaps 5 boats (a testament to the build quality of Rockpool) that seem salvagable, at least from first glance) pretty much everything else is gone.
So, at the moment while we proceed to repair and rebuild we are looking HARD for temporary quarters to, at the very least, use fo what will be a focused kayak repairs shop along with items for sale as that is what we can get up and running the fastest. We'd like to remain on the wharves if possible but will look at anything within reason. Our phones are down so we are working remotely. Use [email protected] if you see or hear of anything that you think might work. As I say, we are focused on rebuilding to stay on the Custom House Wharf but won't really have a sense of timing for some days to come. All of us on the wharf are working together so I expect a positive outcome at the end of the day. Thank you all for your warmth and love. I will do my best to earn it.

Winter is coming. Use the rule of 110. If water temperature and air temperature do not equal or exceed 110 combined, you belong in a dry suit. Who knows what the winter will be but for sure its likely to be colder than usual. Takes about three weeks for us to order and get built a custom dry suit, one or two pieces from either REED or PEAKUK our main suppliers. Prices are fluctuating due to tarrifs so call us if you want up to the minute detal, 1-207-8056884

One door closes, another opens. We have decided due to tariff and shipping uncertainties to delay shipment and receipt of our new boats until sometime early next year. BUMMER! But, because of this, we have reopened the order period for custom new boats. If you are wanting a new boat in YOUR colors, contact us and we can arrange to get it done with delivery next Spring. Take advantage of this now before things get even more difficult.

just in; all black, slightly used, Rebel Ilaga, the BEST rolling boat available, (other than skin on frame.) Sandwich plus layup, so super light, fast and gorgeous. Asking $2500 . Barely any use. Talk to us.

Almost new Stellar 14.2, sweet little boat in on consignment. Come see, paddle. I've sold three of these in past months. They don't stick around. Perfect for bays, lakes, etc.

Our new boats are going to carry a Trump imposed tariff so are likely to be more expensive . At the same time, we have a number of boats in inventory at the "old" price . The boats are moving out pretty rapidly so if you're interested in a Rockpool Taran, ETO, Tarantella, Isel, GT, Menai or another, it is probably wise to move on it sooner or later. Remember, all our boats are available for demo. Enjoy the sunshine.

We are considering updating our slogan and logo to better reflect what we are doing in Portland and the ocean. Here's a version of something we are considering. I wonder if you might share your reaction to it. Much edgier but does reflect our sort of hard core approach and what we sell. I don't want to say yet what I think but your collective feedback would be of enormous help. Thanks all.
