Having shared the walk-up to our last Airbnb in Antibes as a perfect real-world example of why I steadfastly pursued my goal for the UFB’s ultralow weight throughout its development [everyone said I was “crazy” for stipulating a target of 15lb / 16.8Kg], our NEW Airbnb provides yet another excellent illustration of why “you can simply roll it along when folded” is a ridiculously lame excuse for justifying other companies’ much heavier bike weights! lol

A perfect real-world example of why we are laser-focused on making the very lightest fully-configured compact folding bicycle in the world…because there are plenty of situations where “simply rolling the folded bike along on it’s little wheels” is not applicable advice. Lighter is better. ;-) [This is our lovely 3rd-floor walk-up rental flat here in Antibes!]

A great loss! His contributions to this industry - and especially to the vital *practical & utilitarian human-powered vehicles* sector have been truly evolutionary, inspirational, and transformational.

The first iteration of the UFB - indeed dating all the way back to the final days of the SuperBrompton Project - was designed around his extraordinary 14-speed internally-geared hub!

It is thanks to his ingenuity that gearbox equipped bicycles were also able to establish themselves in the field of sporting use, and have since been portrayed anew, as innovative and stylish products.
