I opened Ferdinand Studio & Storefront in 2001. It’s in Portland Maine’s east end across from the cemetery. I make at least 50% of the merchandise in the store: cards, tshirts, jewelry, party hats, onesies, who knows what. (Many of these are available online, some I wholesale to other shops, some are experiments and limited edition.) The rest of the shop is either vintage or something else I like.

“Things I make and things I like” is my motto, which is vague and could include anything! It’s all priced to move which makes it fun for everyone. The shop radically changes every month. It’s my creative outlet and reflects my current obsessions. So that’s it in a nutshell. It’s just me, in a space that’s part store and part workroom. What’s for sale changes all the time, the hours are limited, and it’s a weird and funny place that is worth a visit.
