I just wanted to take a moment to thank our local community, our shop hoppers and our customers. The Crafted Scout in Portland, MI accepted donations for bottled water and pop during the All Michigan Shop Hop this summer. The shop raised $187 in donations during June and July and we matched the donations. Last week New Hope Pet Rescue in Charlotte accepted a $400 donation in Scouts name from the shop, cross stitch and quilting customers and the local community.

Our family has fostered dogs and provided respite for this organization. It’s a wonderful group of volunteers working on behalf of pets in need. The link is below if you’d like to get involved with NHPR.

Attended Michigan’s Fiber Festival in Allegan, MI and brought back some fun stuff for the shop… hand dyed yarn, (worsted, DK, sport and fi*****ng) handmade mittens, wool felting kits (everything included) and children’s books with sewing and knitting patterns for kids and dolls. Fun to see all the vendors from all over the US and their creativity!

Feels like a long time coming!
We waited to put our new sign up until the All Michigan Shop Hop had concluded. The new sign went up this weekend. Look for us in Portland, just one mile off the expressway.

Collaboration is key in Portland and two of your favorite creative spots are moving in together! 🏡✨
We are thrilled to announce that The Crafted Scout (formally Mo’s Needle and Thread) has graciously offered to expand their fantastic new classroom space toinclude The Port. While under one roof, we will utilize separate entrances.
The Crafted Scout will maintain it's entrance at 120 Maple St. with it's regular hours of Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm.
The Port will begin hosting all classes through the entrance at 123 Kent St. beginning in Sept.
By bringing our two worlds together, we are creating a larger event center with more seating as the ultimate creative hub for our small town.
Stay tuned for details about our Grand Opening celebration! ✂️🎉
