"The Correspondent is a tender reflection on the fullness of life and the importance of connection. This novel left me thinking about the measure of time and the stories lived between people, both loved ones and strangers. How precious it is, that through the written word, we can create deeper bonds, perhaps mend in ourselves what might be fractured, and find a way to work through our memories and keep them alive. I believe this novel shows us how we can make a difference to one another by taking the time to give our care, our sincerity and our kindness — by simply writing a letter."

We've spent 35 years cultivating a culture of correspondence. The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, a novel about what happens when a woman in her seventies rediscovers herself through the letters she writes and receives, is one of the most compelling arguments for letter writing we’ve come across in some time.

On Sunday, May 17, we're hosting an intimate reading and discussion in our letterpress gallery, led by Stephanie, retail team member and published author. After the reading, there will be time to correspond, with supplies provided.

We've touched down in Texas for and it's time to reveal our show ink! This fountain pen ink is inspired by the beautiful flowers that Oregon has in common with Texas - the Lupine! Lupine meadows remind us Oregonians of alpine hikes, while in Texas, the Bluebonnet covers the prairies and fields. illustrated us a gorgeous show sticker to pair with the ink!

As some of you know, we didn't know we would be attending this show until two ago - the stars aligned, and we filled in for another vendor. We want to give a shout out to for seeing our vision and producing a beautiful ink in a week.

How are you spending National Letter Writing Month? If it's connecting with loved ones near and far, writing notes to new friends or even a stranger, we have correspondence notes for all occasions! Japanese stationery, letterpress printed notes, or a sheet of handmade paper. We even have a mailbox in-store for you to drop off your letters!
