in 1972, Life Magazine featured a photograph of Chief Petty Officer Graham Jackson playing “Goin’ Home” on the accordion as President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s funeral train left Warm Springs, Georgia. The image originally appeared in the magazine 27 years earlier on April 23, 1945.

From the New Georgia Encyclopedia website: Graham Washington Jackson Sr. was a musician and band leader best known for his personal connection to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He performed for six presidents and was affectionately known as “The Ambassador of Good Will” during his lengthy career.
