We let our staff decide if they wanted the day off on May 1st, so we will be operating with a smaller team than usual. We plan to open around 1 pm, so if you plan on stopping by the shop tomorrow, make sure it's at least past noon.

Congrats to our winners of the One Piece Store Championship (Season 1)! The first photo is of our Top 8.

A whole 64 players competed for 6 rounds. We are super happy to see a great turnout, as our One Piece community is pretty strong here at TOTL. See you next Store Championship!

If you are interested in One Piece Card Game, we will be introducing a Pirates Party event, which is a bit more casual than our usual store tournaments and will hopefully be a bit easier for new players. Our first event will be this Sunday at 5:30PM, and we will be posting more information within the next few days!

It was our first Store Championship for Grand Archive, with some of Portland's most dedicated players showing up for an all afternoon tournament to see who TOTL's Store Champion would be. The winner of the event, Alex, was second in the swiss standings before going to sweep the top 8 with their Guo Jia deck! Along with their prizing- the winner has earned a spot in the Grand Archive National Championship thanks to their performance!

It’s no great secret that things are hard for q***r folk in this country right now. A huge reason why TOTL was founded and came about was to provide a safer space for our community to be able to engage in our hobbies without fear or judgement. A game store we could call our own. In the almost 5 years since we began, it has become definitively harder for our community. We’ve seen an even greater influx of people moving to Portland, fleeing laws specifically crafted to make our lives as miserable as possible. We at TOTL pride ourselves that we can do something to alleviate some of that by providing a third space where the only worries you’ll be reminded of are drawing too few lands or losing a nuzlocke run, where you can game surrounded by the love and support that only a found family/community can bring. Any gamer can tell you about the healing and empowering nature of gaming; we’re proud to provide that to all.

That said, we are not inactive and we don’t avert our eyes. The business owner, Lindsay, was asked to give public testimony to the city council in support of codifying Portland law, ensuring we are a sanctuary city for the LGBTQIA2S+ and non heteronormative relationships. Rather than praising Portland for being an oasis, or talking about how meaningful the changes would be for us, we decided to focus on an overwhelming and frustrating view that the work is done in Portland, that such protections are not needed here. We strongly disagreed. We know this is wrong from every story we hear told in the store. This ordinance has passed after years of crafting then a month of delays, but there is so much more work to be done, in law, in education, in social acceptance. We thank you for your support as we continue to do what little we can, and share our love of gaming with you.
