The founders of Alpha Chi Omega were students at the School of Music at DePauw University. They chose the lyre, an ancient Greek instrument associated with Apollo, the god of music, as the official symbol for their new organization. The lyre represents harmony… not just in music but in friendship, creativity, and life. Whenever the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega see the lyre, it is a reminder to always stay “in tune” with their values.
