Well, turns out February is a pretty good month for authors too: how about James Joyce, Gertrude Stein, Betty Friedman, Charles Dickens, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Boris Pasternak, Charles Lamb, Abraham Lincoln, Sinclair Lewis, Sir Thomas More, Jules Verne, S J Perlman and James Michener. Pretty god huh?

To all our customers and friends: It's time to retire! Yep, it is with very mixed feelings that I am closing the store as of March 1st. It has been a wonderful experience. Don't let anyone tell you that Porterville doesn't read because she sure does. And in every genre too.

To our customers with store credit: You are the people who kept our inventory fresh. Soooooo all of you need to come in and help your self to books equal to your credit amount. So many books, so little time.
