These are built in house on our proprietary made in USA blanks. They feature quality fuji components with the same level of fit and finish as all of our custom rods in a more subtle package. These have been tested extensively both here in Florida and up in the Northeast for Striped Bass, Fluke, and Tautog.

When your customer has a car this cool you've got to pull a couple tricks out of your hat to make a rod that does it justice.

John Walsh wanted a McLaren themed rod to go with his ride. I went with a beautiful CTS painted blank as the canvas and added cork with carbon fiber inlaid grips, Matagi painted reel seat highlighting the car's carbon components and black accents. To match the car's wheels I had titanium torzite Fuji guides annodized gold and wrapped the guides with silver and gold accents. The faded purples emulate the car's beautiful curves, while the black and subtle grey threads carry carbon fibers theme out to the rods tip. The final detail of neon green reflects the car's seat belts and she is capped off with a beautiful closed thread wrap which has a little of all the elements incorporated. What I love best about this build is how even with all of the artistic embellishments it is still as much of a performance custom rod as the car is a performance driving machine. Form follows function.

Today in Rodbuilding...

In honor of Fat Tuesday I had to do a Mardi Gras themed wrap. 11 minutes and change condensed down to under a minute. Only about 100 more color changes to go to complete this custom rod for finesse fishing redfish, speckled trout, pompano, bonefish and whatever else I might encounter on the flats!

Every Garone Custom Rod has a story. This one is a little longer than most, here is that story.

I intended to build this Rod Geeks Blanks for myself to throw small jigs with gulp while walking the beach for Fluke and also small walk the dog lures for Stripers and Bluefish in the Manasquan River. I made the spiral checkerboard cork grips and assembled the handle about 6 years ago, but that was as far as the build progressed. 3 years ago we moved to Florida, Fluke and Stripers were no longer in the equation, but I figured could use it for something down here. A few more months with no progress. Then, finally some signs of life, I needed a rod to do a feather inlay demonstration, so she got some love. This time I got about 1/2 of the feather inlay completed before she got put back on the rack for close to 2 years. A few weeks back I decided it was time to finish her. First I completed the feather inlay, then capped it off with some beautiful trim and titanium torzite Fuji guides from Anglers Resource . Just as soon as she was finished John Walsh "adopted" her into his ever growing collection 😉, I was sad to see her go but she's in a better place now.

Conrad was looking for a unique swimbait/glidebait rod, here is what I came up with. I love how this one came together, with so many unique elements coming together to create one bad ass piece. We didn't hold back on this one with titanium torzite purple anodized Fuji guides, TCH reel seat, United Composites blank, burl cork and cord grip, along with a ton of faded trim and feather inlay, this rod is a functional work of art.

The Garone Custom Ultralight Rods put in some work this weekend. Capt Riley Griffith landed this beautiful redfish on his new CTS Air 702 and I was lucky enough to snag a nice 12 # tripletail on my Air 704 setup paired with a 1k Daiawa Tatula, 6 # braid and a little marabu crappie jig. Ive got to give a huge shout out to Capt Adam White for putting me on em again and for shortening my learning curve on the inshore fishing in this area of Florida significantly! If you are in the area and looking to have some fun don't hesitate to book him for a charter!
