Here’s a breakdown of the new Texas and Louisiana trout regulations:

If you fish Texas, you are allowed three (3) trout, but if you fish Louisiana the trout limit is fifteen (15).

Texas slot is 15 to 20 inches, but Louisiana slot is 13 to 25 inches.

So, if you want to catch some trout the best bet is Louisiana.

Sabine Lake is only a two hour drive from Houston.

Captain Marty is presently booking guided trips for the 2024 season. Contact me at my email address which is [email protected] or PM your email address and I’ll send you all of the details plus pricing.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is considering changes to the daily bag limit and size limit for spotted seatrout to support their recovery from a 2021 freeze. The proposed changes are:

o Reduce the daily bag limit from five fish to three fish
o Maintain the minimum length limit of 15 inches
o Reduce the maximum length limit from 25 inches to 20 inches
o Allow one fish over 25 inches daily
o Tighten the slot limit from 15-25 inches to 15-20 inches

The TPWD's scoping efforts have shown that 83% of respondents support a three-fish bag limit and only 4% are against any changes. The CCA Texas Executive Board has also voted to support the TPWD's proposal.

Trout anglers must have a valid fishing license with a freshwater stamp endorsement, unless they are exempt from sport fishing license requirements. Licenses and stamps are not required if fishing within the boundaries of a Texas State Park.

2020 has not been the greatest of years for all of us. We all have had to deal with the pandemic. But for Louisiana LImits we had to deal with the EF3 tornado that went through Onalaska back in April. Luckily we were just brushed by the storm and only had minimal damage. Then I had to evacuate from the state park last week because of Laura the CAT 4 hurricane. Luckily Sabine and Port Arthur were spared any major damage. I hoping to get my charter service back operational next week. The 2020 flounder season is just around the corner. The run starts around Halloween and runs until mid December. If interested in a flounder trip please send me your email address and I'll email 2020 Flounder Calendar.

With the Covid19 pandemic fiasco, I have development an easy math formula to determine the best daily activity.

This one really works! It will take you only about-ten-seconds and, amazingly, it will reveal your best daily activity to undertake.

I'm pretty good at math, so I did it in my head, then on paper, and finally on a calculator just to confirm my mathematical calculations. For best results, try a different number each day.

DO NOT cheat. DO YOUR math, THEN compare the results on the list at the bottom. You will be AMAZED at how scary true and accurate this test is:

1. Pick a number from 1-9.
2. Multiply that number by 3.
3. Add 3.
4. Multiply by 3 again.
5. Your total will be a two digit number. Add the first and second digits together. Your activity for that day is that number.

Activity list:
1. Stand in line to buy toilet paper
2. Watch The Price is Right
3. Clean out the garage
4. Mow the grass
5. Check the mail box for stimulus check
6. Drive to Sonic for carry out dinner
7. Paint interior of house
8. Wash the dog
9. Go fishing with Captain Marty
10. Go on a cruise
.. Now, isn't that amazing. This math equation is copyrighted, do not reproduce.

If you did not get the right answer then you must have failed math. Please recalculate!!
