‼️A MUST Read POST ‼️
Please read this entire post.
Thank you 😻
We are so grateful for everyone’s support on
We could not do any of this without you !!!
Pictured are just a few situations that have taken place in the last week. Clearly, the funds and support are always needed and welcomed. The needs are never ending.
Teddy- middle picture had his touch up eye surgery and hopefully his last. This was his second surgery for an eyelid deformity called eyelid agenesis. Because of the eyes being so sensitive, it can take a few surgeries before it is corrected.
Kitten intake of 3 kittens about four weeks old. They were found at the base of a tree within a few feet of their decaying, dead mama. There was actually four, but one did not make it. These babies were starving, borderline bottle feeds, flea infested, upper respiratory, dehydrated, and some infected wounds. They would not have made it on their own.
Spay/Neuter - we are helping with a situation locally where there are between 25 and 30 cats. Pictured here, about half of them were spayed/neutered today. We will be working on the rest of the colony until every one of them are fixed. Also, on this site, there are three nursing mamas. We will be taking in 2
of the litters this week once weaned . One litter are newborns and will remain with mama for a few more weeks. All of the mama cats will be fixed, one was included in the group today.
Charlotte- adult Torti, found injured in a parking lot. She had been seen hanging around for several weeks. She had trauma wounds to her back/ hip area, bilat back feet, swollen lymph nodes in her inguinal / abdominal area, infection to her wounds, malnourished,
and too sick for her spay. She will see our vet this week for her recheck and possible spay. She is recovering great. Some wounds are still draining, but they are much improved. She is receiving antibiotics for the infection and being monitored.
Intake of a juvenile momma and her 3 babies. This mama is maybe 6 months old. She is a baby having babies. Not only that, the WORST of it is , she had 4 kittens , but one of her babies was found alone, crying, and literally being eaten alive by maggots. The poor kitten had maggots through and through;from its mouth to its re**um. This baby was humanely euthanized. Needless to say, this was unnecessary suffering for all if mama had been spayed. This is an awful sight for anyone to have to endure .
Sam- he is the black adult cat picture. Sam was trapped about three years ago in horrible shape in a parking lot. He is being treated for Cushing’s and diabetes.
This guy is a long-term sanctuary cat that will live his life out here. He is healthy and as comfortable as it gets. This guy endured a lot of suffering and has battle scars throughout his body to show it. He lived a rough and tough life, but those days are over. Another reason to Spay/Neuter , ALL cats . Even males. Unaltered males live a very difficult life just trying to survive.
From us/ the rescuer Our hearts are broken, we are tired, we have taken in cats, communicated and traveled late at night when normal people are at home asleep or with their families. All of these situations are urgent and add more stress and care to the rescuer. Why, why, why we ask.
This week has been one of the hardest weeks to experience.
Seeing these tragedies unfold, I ask myself: how is this fair? These suffering animals didn’t have to endure this. None of this should happen. That’s why spaying and neutering is so crucial—it’s the only way to address the overwhelming overpopulation of cats and prevent endless suffering like this.
People often say, “Well, it’s not my cat,” but the truth is, it was someone’s pet’s cat—cats that were allowed to breed because no one took responsibility. If we trace it back, we’ll see the same pattern: a pet owner who didn’t fix their cat, leading to generations of kittens suffering on the streets.
We will keep speaking out, tirelessly, until there’s no breath left in us- please, spay and neuter. If you feed stray cats, please get them fixed. There are low-cost resources available in many communities. Do it for them.
Animals feel. They love. They suffer. Anyone who doubts that should come to a rescue, witness a mother cat nurturing her babies—grooming them, laying down to protect and nurture them. They depend on us.
We owe it to them. They are not just “animals.” They are lives that deserve compassion, care, and a chance at a better life. We are their voice, their hope, their only chance in a world where too many people just don’t care.
ALL of these situations are reasons to SPAY/NEUTER every cat .
Again, THANK YOU to all you amazing supporters out there. Not only those who support us financially, but the wonderful veterinarians that dedicate their time and expertise to help us care for these kitties.
