The pistol phase of the 2026 US Navy East Coast Fleet Matches is complete and what a ride it has been! Alot of fun and comraderie was had by all, especially the Coast Guard Team!

For those keeping score of my results...

Atlantic Fleet Matches (116 shooters)
Individual Pistol Match - 1st Place
Fleet EIC Match - 1st Place
Individual Pistol Aggregate - 1st Place
Team Match - US Coast Guard - 1st Place

All Navy Matches (107 shooters)
Individual Pistol Match - 2nd Place
All Navy EIC Match - 5th Place
Individual Pistol Aggregate - 3rd Place
Long Range Service Pistol Match - 1st Place

Overall Pistol Aggregate (combined Fleet and All Navy Aggregates) - 1st Place
Revolver EIC Match (1st time shooting a revolver in competition) - 2nd Place (got a "hard" leg and 8 EIC points)

As always, these Genesis Custom Gunsmithing LLC 1911's performed flawlessly and were definitely instrumental in my success at the Fleet Matches this year!

Genesis Gunsmithing will be closed starting tomorrow 7 May 2026 through 19 MAY 2026. I will be competing at the Navy's East Coast Fleet Matches. The shop will be open again on the 19th.

Public Service Announcement from Genesis Gunsmithing....

While a lot of customers purchase new and used fi****ms from online sites like Guns.com and Gunbroker.com, please be aware that sometimes fi****ms arrive "not as advertised".

While we will conduct your background check and transfer, unless specifically asked to do so, we will not clean, inspect or fire the firearm that was purchased online. If we notice something out of the ordinary while we are checking the firearm into our records, we will notify you of any gross, obvious defects to see how you would like to proceed.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please call and ask. We are always willing to be of any assistance to you, our valued customers!

Genesis Custom Gunsmithing is excited to announce a new addition to our lineup of Custom, Hand Built, 1911's.

The Commander

I've had numerous requests about this style of 1911's and now I'm proud to announce that "YES" we will now be building them!

This beauty is for sale, so follow it on its journey from beginning to completion. I've got a few surprises in store for this one.

Kerk Evans, recently brought this family heirloom to us for repair. His Grandfather had purchased a 20ga. LC Smith shotgun and had to purchase this 16ga. shotgun with it as a "condition of purchase". This 16ga. double barreled shotgun had the breech of the left barrel blown out, as shown in the pictures. For over 60 years it sat in the gun cabinet, unable to be used due to the damaged barrel.

Last October, Kerk found replacement barrels at a local gun show with serial numbers indicating that it was built the same year as the shotgun, in 1921! Talk about finding a needle in a series of haystacks!

After several hours of fitting, the new barrels were successfully matched to the receiver and now I am happy to report that Kerk is beyond ecstatic that this shotgun is now operational! For the first time since his family owned these two shotguns has the pair been a working set!

Thank you Kerk Evans for allowing us the privilege of working on your family heirloom and getting it in working order for your family to enjoy and show off!
