Five months after this wedding the bride sent me an email that had me ugly crying in my kitchen. It’s the last slide. These are the weddings I carry with me. The intimate ones with sweet couples tucked into places like Siebkens, where every room has a story, you feel close to every single person there and the flowers just get to join in. Yesterday was my birthday. I got to work for a while, some flowers we’ve been chasing forever finally showed up, saw my dad and mom, spent time with my closest people and the mutts. It wasn’t a bash. It wasn’t fancy. It was quiet and it was perfect.
