This girl would’ve been mighty pretty had she not been tore up from the spawn!!

We struggled to get fish of any size to commit on this day despite raising fish in every area of the lake.

On this particular occasion we were able to run the break line really well with three anglers. Matt Eyman-Vavroch on the deep side, Gus Mantey on the intermediate depth, and myself up shallow tricking this fish with a Conklyn Lures Pedigree.

Working as a team & complimenting each other with different presentations at different depths is always a recipe for success when fish are spread out.

I was able to score my first of the trip shortly after Gus’s catch. This one ate a Conklyn Lures Pedigree. Not the biggest fish, but I needed that bite after a butt kicking all weekend.

This is what musky fishing is. Hard work, patience, perseverance, and a struggle to dial in a bite. The successful vs unsuccessful days are separated by simply taking advantage of the few opportunities you’re given. Fish hard in high probability areas, and you’re going to get those opportunities.

Those that know me, know I'm not a fan of using foil, vinyl, or prism tape on my lures. I prefer the painting aspect for creativity. That said, I found some gold leaf tape and tried it out. While I like the results, its still not something I'll be doing.
And no, its not for sale. Techniques I try for the first time are not for sale until proven. This will rest in my boat.
