Please join us for a special author event celebrating Lisa See and her new book, Daughters of the Sun and Moon: A Novel at the Firehouse Arts Center, Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 7 pm. This is a ticketed event.

2 OPTIONS TO ATTEND:

Please join us in partnership with The American Association of University Women as we host author Allison Larkin on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 11:00 am on the Cellar Door patio (4469 Railroad Ave, Pleasanton, CA). We will be in the garden behind the restaurant which will be closed (located next to Meadowlard Dairy and behind Inklings Coffee). There is parking next to the Firehouse Arts Center which is diagonal from the Cellar Door.

Allison Larkin is the internationally bestselling author of the novels The People We Keep, Stay, Why Can’t I Be You, and Swimming for Sunlight. Join us at the Livermore Library this Saturday at 2pm with bestselling author Elaine Castillo! This is a free event and we’d love to see you there 📚

Elaine Castillo, named one of “30 of the Planet’s Most Exciting Young People” by the Financial Times, was born and raised in the Bay Area. Her most recent novel Moderation has been longlisted for the 2026 Women’s Prize in Fiction, and was named one of the Top Ten Books of 2025 by The Atlantic, Slate, and a Best Book of 2025 by The New Yorker, TIME, Kirkus Reviews, and more.

Her debut novel, America Is Not the Heart (2018), was a finalist for numerous prizes including the Elle Big Book Award, the Center for Fiction Prize, and the Aspen Words Literary Prize and was named a best book of 2018 by NPR, Real Simple, Lit Hub, The Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, The New York Post, Kirkus Reviews, and the New York Public Library. She is also the author of the acclaimed collection of essays How to Read Now (2022), the longform essay Good Girl: Notes on Dog Rescue (2024).

She is the recipient of a 2026 Whiting Award for Fiction, a two-time San Francisco Public Library Laureate, a Berkeley Public Library Laureate, and has been longlisted for the 2026 Joyce Carol Oates Prize, in recognition of writers of national consequence.

Now that the weather is warming up we thought it was about time for another Boozy Bookfair at Sidetrack Bar & Grill! This is an adult bookfair (21+) and tickets are $25 per person and will take place on May 12th from 5pm-7pm.

This time around we will be joined by authors Sally Faddis, Michelle Chouinard, and Brian Copeland as an extra special treat!

There will be wine and small plates courtesy of Sidetrack as well as treats from Primrose Bakery. Julie Castillo will also be selling her “My Restaurant Bag.”

Angie Kang is the author and illustrator of the recently released picture book Our Lake and illustrator of Navigating Night by Julie Leung

Angie Kang is a Chinese American writer and illustrator currently living in LA. Her work has appeared in Narrative, The Believer, and elsewhere. She enjoys painting places she remembers and places she would like to go.
