WE HAVE CHANGED, PLEASE READ
As many of you may have noticed, we have changed our business name. We have done this for several reasons. As we move forward, we decided to restructure our business, and focus more on what matters to us looking ahead. We will no longer be making the custom glassware and decanters in order to provide more time to manage other aspects of our glass business, ourselves, and what we find fulfilling.
2023 was very hard on us personally. After my father passed away in December of 2022, it was hard for us to make time to grieve because we were focused on our customers. However, we were hit again in May when I was diagnosed with a mild cognitive disorder. For those who are not familiar with the term, it is like a state of pre-dementia. The diagnosis will not change until I am older and fit into the medical community’s timeline. That in no way changes the challenges that I face going forward. After this, we were forced to stop and take time for ourselves (my son and I) not only to process and grieve for how this changes our future, but to finally be able to grieve for the loss of my father as well.
There have been a lot of ups and downs over this last year, and it has made us more resilient to make changes to our business so I can enjoy the work I do with the stained and fused glass. Even though I enjoyed the custom decanters and glassware, that along with being at shows every weekend took away a lot of time from making the beautiful creations I enjoy with the actual glass.
This decision has also allowed me to open up my studio doors and welcome new people in who would like to learn Stained Glass or Fused Glass. By teaching others, it allows me to leave a part of myself behind that I will lose some day.
Everyone has heard of Alzheimer’s or Dementia, but when you say mild cognitive disorder, people just look at you, waiting for an explanation. I would like to change that. I would like to bring awareness to people who suffer from a cognitive disorder, and help everyone understand the challenges, struggles, and life we lead, as I advocate to be understood. 10% of all profits will be donated to those in search of a cure for these horrible diseases.
I hope each of my previous clients and others who find our page join me in the new direction we are bringing to you. Whether you choose to shop at our store that will be up soon, or join me for a class, you will be a part of the world I am building to leave for my son. Thank you to all who have been with us on this journey.
