New York State Police Major (Ret) Charles Guess stopped by Lake City Books recently and dropped off autographed copies of his new book "Relentless Pursuit".

Major Guess had "overall responsibilty for the manhunt for escaped Inmates Richard Matt and David Sweat" in June of 2015. He "oversaw all agencies and personnel involved in the search" and "coordinated strategic,tactical,and operational decisions" of numerous Local, State and Federal law enforcement agencies.

"Relentless Pursuit" offers "the inside story of the terrorized community, the outstanding men and women of law enforcement, and the State Trooper responsible for capturing the inmates."

Signed copies of "Relentless Pursuit are available at Lake City Books for $19.95.

A unique opportunity from Lake City Books in Plattsburgh, NY.

LC Books has all the Topps Baseball card sets produced between 1980 - 2013 and 17 Traded/Update sets from those same years. Nearly every Topps card manufactured for 34 consecutive years. That works out to 34 Complete Base Sets and 17 Traded/Update sets. Most are either Factory sealed or in Albums so that you can examine the cards. Also inluded are the extra albums and 9 pocket sheets needed to display all of the remaining cards.

Stan Ransom, "The Connecticut Peddler", stopped by Lake City Books recently to drop off some his CD's.

Stan, retired Director of the Clinton/Essex/Franklin Library System, plays the hammered dulcimer, the mandolin, guitar and sings in partnership with Marne O'Shae in their CD "North Country Christmas".

Stan also tells the history of Plattsburgh, NY through song and funny historical anecdotes in his CD "Down the Saranac".

Both CD's are available at Lake City Books... thanks for making them available to us Stan Ransom.

Lake City Books unveils it's newest "Charity of the Month": Champlain Valley Habitat for Humanity.

CVHFH is the local affiliate of the international organization Habitat for Humanity. It's goal is to provide affordable housing to deserving familities in Clinton County: "Building Homes and Hope to Clinton County Families".

Lake City Books is raffling off a $50 Gift Certificate and will donate all proceeds from the raffle to CVHFH.

You know those days when it seems like everytime you turn around something seems to be going wrong?

Recently I was having that type of day here at the shop, until a brand new friend of Lake City Books burst through the door, and in a voice loud enough for all to hear exclaimed: "WOW! What a great bookstore. This is the place to come when you want to find a book."

Well, needless to say, that immediately turned my entire day around.

Thank you, "Rita from Malone", for stopping into Lake City Books and making my day ! Can't wait until you swing by again.

BREAKING NEWS! OLVA FOXES RE-APPEAR AT LAKE CITY BOOKS!

For those of you too young to remember, once upon a time there were 3 Catholic schools in Plattsburgh: St. Johns Academy; St. Peter's/Mount Assumption Institute; Our Lady of Victory Academy (the Irish, the Mounties and the Foxes). They are all gone now, morphed into Seton Catholic about
two decades ago.

Well, turns out that some great friends of Lake City Books, sisters Linda Bushey and Sue Bouyea, are actually past students (not the other type of Sisters) of OLVA, the first of the Catholic schools to close up shop back in the early 1970's.

Linda and Sue, we had a great time sharing some wonderful memories from a bygone era. Thanks for a great visit and for your continuing support of Lake City Books.
