It is with a heavy heart, we announce the passing of High Hill Ranch founder, George Visman. Born in Placerville in 1929, George grew up farming the area with his father, right down the road. He proudly served our country in the Air Force, during the Korean War.

After returning from service, he walked up the road from his Father's Farm and for $500, purchased the land that has now become, High Hill Ranch.

George retired from running the ranch full-time, a few years ago. You could still find him every day on his golf cart, chatting with customers, checking the orchards and his favorite duty, quality control of the pies that started it all.

Even though he will be sorely missed, he created a generational legacy that will live on.
