If I could
I’d take the world
And place it in my pocket
I’d show the
Universe
What it’s like
To breed kindness
From the depths
Of my blue jeans
Where coins jingle
Freely as I walk
And into the hands of homeless
Begging for meals
On the streets
As passers buy ignore
The human soul
Standing right in front of them
Asking for their kindness
For their assistance
For their compassion
How is it possible
That so many of us lack
The empathy it takes
To simply smile
And not ignore
The fact that we are all human
And kindness is free
