our next fun {EVENT} for you
Thank you to everyone that stopped in for our last event, "Martinis for Moms" on the first day of Mt. Lebanon's school year. We served frozen coffee drinks (with or without alcohol), we opened at 8:30am and we loved seeing you moms, dads & grandparents!
Our next event is for ALL ages and it is all about putting your best foot forward. . .
At market we fell in love with ribbon shoelaces & charms so we got a whole charm bar just for you!
Come out this Thursday 5-7pm and we will have frozen drinks again and allow you first picks from our shoelace charm bar. If you simply RSVP to our shop cell phone (412-290-4726), you will receive a gift.
finds from our {MARKET} trip
We are so excited about the products that have already arrived from our "market" buying trip and there are many more to arrive over the next month or so. Do stop in frequently because some things sell out and we can't always re-stock when we want. We brought our husbands with us to market this trip and it was fun to see their thoughts on products to bring in.
Some new items that have arrived or will arrive soon include:
• Snoopy, Snoopy Wobble (crochet kit)
• rechargeable lighters
• mystery squishy dumplings. . .yes
• block print totes and pouches
• clay bead bracelet keychains (an old favorite)
• Miffy the simply adorable bunny
• all sorts of bag charms for all ages
• twirlies to tie on bags
• drink mixes by Noble Micks (we are sampling so much)
• Murphy & Daughters hand lotions will be back
• more bestie water bottles
• interchangeable Bermuda bags (yes, back from our childhoods)
• new baby spiritwear for Pitt & Penn State
• candles, desk accessories, office supplies (we love)
• new brand with very "vintage-like" merch- adorable finds
• vintage lip balms are back (again from our childhood)
• some new Pittsburgh hometown picks
• picture frames you are always asking for & some to come
• Mahjong merch, smiley face stuffies & much more. . .
shopping small
{SOAP BOX} rant
Every time you choose to stop in a small shop for your gifting needs, you are making a difference in keeping shops like Barefoot around. Almost daily we are asked. . ."How is it going?" . . . We want you to know from our hearts that we attempt to make smart business decisions like hoping to stay in our location, making merchandise selection purchases, hiring help and picking the hours we are open in order to stay around for years to come. We are reminded frequently that a lot of you love this little shop and the more you show that with your choices the more it helps.
We make costly choices for YOU. . .
• We choose, for now, to stay in a small space with limited parking (and lack of municipal support in this regard.)
• We choose to hire local women.
• We choose to curate a great selection of unique merchandise from all across the globe but also many local creators. This involves hours of research and trend/brand discovery.
• We choose to complimentarily beautifully custom wrap all your full price gifts for you. This involves an expense of almost twenty-thousand dollars a year for us.
• We choose to offer hundreds of thread colors, many fonts and machine maintenance to personalize your own items and products you purchase from us.
• We choose to spend countless "behind the scenes" hours pouring into this little shop.
We are grateful for every time you choose us.
