19th century hidden mother tintype. Hidden mothers were often not a relative at all but were instead the photographer’s assistant. The imagery of a ghostly figure holding a child continues to be terrifying. Measures roughly 3.25 X 2.25 inches. Tintype has some bending and age related damage as is common with these. $125
