WHAT an afternoon!!! I just spent WAY too long updating the listings on my Etsy store. DONE!

Alongside my usual stock, I just got in four new yarns that I think you all will like...

Do you like Merino/Cashmere/Nylon (MCN) yarn? I just got a dozen skeins of MCS in--Merino/Cashmere/SILK!! How cool is that?? Super soft and warm and lovely. (It's in the British Silk/Wool Blends section). AND.... It's Superwash. Superwash Merino, Cashmere, and Silk. Crazy. And it's beautiful.

Next, I'm testing three new, slightly heavier yarns that still knit up beautifully in our machines. They're in a new section, cleverly called, "Heavier Sock Yarns" (go figure!). There's one "Sport Sock Weight" and two "DK Sock Weight" yarns.

My mill suggested I try these new weights of theirs and said that they're selling really well, despite most people thinking that Sport and DK weight yarns are generally too heavy for CSM knitting. I was surprised when I tried them.

These yarns are the general yards-per-pound weight of Sport and DK weight yarns, but they're spun softly enough that they still glide through our machines like butter, but they full beautifully into a lovely, soft, slightly heavier than usual, knitted fabric after their first washing. And, yes, they're all Superwash, so no troubles there.

The Sport Sock Weight knits up in any cylinder up to 84, while the DK Sock Weight only goes as far as 72 slots--it's a little too beefy for 80 and 84.

I bought a dozen skeins of each of these yarns, but I'd be delighted to buy more if you all decide you like them. ;) Let me know what you think!!

Ah, the best laid plans.... Remember when I was going to spend today test-knitting the new angora and alpaca yarns so that I could put up listings for them with intelligent commentary on how they knit and how best to use them? Remember that?

Well, instead of that, I'll be spending the afternoon fixing our water heater that's acting up. Again. So tiresome.

Which do you think I'd rather be doing, knitting with fabulous new yarns? Or fixing the water heater? Yeah, well, the other one is what I'll be doing.

Anyway, I got the new yarns in and they really are beautiful. I'm even more excited than before to be offering them as part of my line. Soon.... So sorry. (You have no idea how sorry.... 😩 )

The angora arrived last night..... And it's beautiful.... I'll have pictures and a review of it up this weekend. ;)

There *IS* an upside to waking up early on a Sunday morning--you can get some knitting done!

This is a pair of men's size 12-1/2 wide socks knitted with my 80/20 Superwash Merino/Silk sock yarn. They were knitted on the 42/84 dial and cylinder on a WWI-era Swedish Are circular sock knitting machine.

The yarn is currently listed on my Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/listing/176224042/sw-merinosilk-sock-yarn-8020-natural

As always, thanks for looking and thank you all for your custom! :)

Question-- Superwash, Non-Superwash, or I Like Them Both?

I'm researching some new yarns to start carrying and I keep running into this question. In a perfect world, I'd love to carry every yarn in both a Superwash and a Non-Superwash version. But that's rarely possible. And there are certainly advantages to both, aren't there?

Please let me know what you think in the comments. It would help me tremendously to have a better idea of what you all think.

Thanks!! :)

-Eric.
