I’m home resting, after having surgery on my elbow this morning. The entire bursa around my elbow and all the accumulated fluid was removed. A nerve that had been moved, in earlier surgery (an unsuccessful attempt to relieve a pinched nerve) was now found wrapped around the bursa. My elbow was swollen when Charles and I were married in July, and it had continually gotten larger and larger. Because of my complex medical issues, one Orthopedic surgeon did not want to operate on it. So I was referred to Dr. Kummerfield. He did not hesitate to schedule surgery. It simply had to be done. My arm is wrapped extremely tight to hopefully keep the swelling from coming back. Half of my left hand and two fingers are still numb but I am hopeful that the pinched nerve has been relieved and that feeling will come back later. This has been an awful experience for about 10 months but I am so thankful I will have use of my arm and some use of my hand. I know there are things that are so much worse. Charles has an apparent pinched nerve in his back and is waiting for an MRI. While waiting for me today, he was hurting more than I was. My niece, Barbara had back surgery today, after having severe pain for years. I hope and pray the surgery was successful and that her pain will be gone. Thank you everyone who has prayed for me and I appreciate all continued prayers for my husband, my niece, and me. Home health care and a therapist will visit me tomorrow. Barbara will remain in the hospital for at least a few days. I love you Barb. And I pray Charles will get some help and relief from pain soon. I love you Charles. So glad to have you through Sickness and in health. Thank you God, you are so good to me.
