Morning Thoughts, no. 2 🤍

I’ve always been fascinated by the way scent can pull a memory forward before you’ve even had time to name it.

A place. A person. A season. Sometimes just a feeling.

That little gap between smelling something and knowing exactly why it matters is one of my favorite things about scent.

Crisp Apple is becoming Western Slope 🤍

When I first created this bar, it was an ode to Colorado’s apple orchards and hard cider scene. Apples still absolutely belong in the story, especially on the Western Slope, where fruit growing has deep roots and generations of families have built orchards around apples and stone fruit.

But every time I come back, I understand this part of Colorado a little differently.

On our way to Denver this weekend, we deliberately routed through the Western Slope and stopped in Palisade during peach season. The landscape is full of orchards and vineyards, with peaches, apples, cherries and other fruit growing through the valleys. Palisade and the Grand Valley are especially known for peaches and wine grapes, and that agricultural identity is such a huge part of what makes this region feel distinct.

And I realized this soap had outgrown the name Crisp Apple.

The scent isn’t changing. But Western Slope gives me room to tell the bigger story: orchards, cider, peaches, vineyards, roadside fruit stands, harvest season, and a landscape I keep wanting to learn more about.

Same soap. A better suited name 🤍

First time at Vibe Artisan Market and WOW🤍

Thoughtful, organized, and filled with such a talented (and lovely) group of artists and makers. I looooved getting to know the vendors around me and spending another weekend sharing Naked Fig in Denver.

Extra fun seeing the market tote bags designed by Gabby Klein (a fellow Phoenix artist) 🤍

Denver gave us record heat, hazy skies, and wildfire smoke this weekend, so I was very thankful this was an indoor market!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, smelled some soap, shared a story, or took something home with you. And thank you, 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 , for such a thoughtful weekend. 🤍

Colorado, I’m on my way back. 🤍

Tomorrow I get to do one of my favorite things: pack up the car and head on an adventure!

This weekend I’ll be at the Vibe Artisan Market in Denver with the Colorado Collection (and Arizona, and California, and Illinois)

There’s something especially meaningful about bringing these soaps back to the place that inspired them. Every visit adds another layer to the story—new conversations, familiar faces, and little details that absolutely become part of the Colorado story.

If you’re in the Denver area this weekend , I’d love to see you. 🤍

Prairie 🤍

Of all four seasons, late summer might be the easiest to overlook.

It’s the quiet space between the fullness of summer and the color of fall. The fields begin to change, the grasses turn gold, and the air carries a dry sweetness that seems to linger a little longer each evening.

Growing up in Illinois, this season always felt like a gentle reminder to pay attention. It never lasted very long.

Prairie is the final chapter in my Illinois Collection.

Earth smell 🤍

The word geosmin literally means “earth smell.”

It’s a naturally occurring compound produced by soil microbes and as one of the reasons healthy for us to have that Rich earthy smell.

Growing up, I never knew there was a name for that scent. I just called it, good dirt.
