Good morning, all,
STILL 12 more to go!!!!!
This is a different update than the previous. Yesterday would have been day one of Marcus’ third treatment, however, things went a little differently than expected. We were told towards the end of his previous treatment session that his numbers were a bit low, nothing alarming, but low, nonetheless. If, during the “rest period” when he’s home, the hope was that his numbers would raise enough to where he would be admitted. Well, that was the doctor’s hope, but Marcus and I had a different hope in mind.
Marcus had a not so great “rest period” and we both felt like it was a bit soon for him to have to go back. I noticed his mood change on Saturday, but every time I spoke to him about it, he just explained it away as him being tired. I knew he was tired, but this was different. All day Sunday, he was the same and still telling me that he was really tired. So I let him be.
Monday morning arrives and he drags himself to the shower, gets dressed and we’re on our way….we go through all of the normal motions of having the IV placed in his port, and having his blood drawn. Neither of us looking forward to this stay. Once the doctor came in she asked all of the normal questions and THEN explained that although she’s not concerned, his numbers are a bit low for her to want to admit him at this time. She felt that given another week, his numbers should come up enough for him to be admitted. His mood IMMEDIATELY CHANGED!
While he didn’t jump for joy, I could tell that this was the person that I had been looking for all weekend. I asked him if he was ok with waiting another week and he smiled and quickly shook his head, and then explained that Saturday, he received a text reminding him of his admission on Monday. It made so much sense now! Not only was he not ready to return, but then he received an email which totally ruined his mood for the weekend…
Once he knew he wasn’t staying, he perked right up and so did I! his mood completely changed, he began talking, joking and laughing, that was the news we needed. So, he’ll get a little bit more of a break before having to go back. We never look forward to admission day, but at least now it won’t feel like he just left and then had to turn around and go right back.
This will be a very grateful week.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PRAYERS! WE ONLY HAVE A FEW DAYS LEFT IN HIS FUNDRAISER, AND WE ARE FAR FROM HIS GOAL, PLEASE HELP, AND CONTINUE TO SHARE!

In July of 2024 Marcus, my sonshine, 22 years old (now 23💙), was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a malignant bone cancer that starts in the cells that form bones, in his left hand. He is undergoing a grueling 14 weeks of chemotherapy—which is three days of 24 hours in-hospital treatment and two weeks of nauseating and painful recovery before the next round of five days.
He is quite literally unable to work at this time. We have started a Little Ceasars’ pizza fundraiser …
(https://fundraising.littlecaesars.com/products...
This fundraiser is to assist with his mounting medical bills, that we were not prepared for…who can prepare for something such as this? And hopefully help cheer him up, as you can imagine, life hasn’t been very pleasant as of late.
We will receive $6.00 profit for every pizza kit sold. If you don’t want to buy a pizza, there is a “Gift for Good” option, which is just a monetary option. We are so thankful for any contribution you can afford.
If you don’t want to go through the Little Ceasars’ fundraiser and would like to make a direct donation, Marcus’ cashapp is $MarcAnt44. I have also included his Zelle QR as well as a QR code to the fundraiser.
Any donation made to Marcus’ cashapp will be used strictly for his care and/or medical bills Again, we appreciate anything you are able to give, and we thank you for your hard earned donation.
It certainly takes a village and we are learning that right now.
