¡Saludos! We're catching up after a busy Spring/Summer 2025 season of making hand drums, repairing drums, teaching Latin Percussion classes, and selling our hand made drums. We're back online to share updates on our work so far this year. Thanks as always to our friends, family, percussionists, musicians, collectors, and the whole music community for the support and trust in Acheré Percussion's work.

Welcome - we have some new followers, so we'd like to reintroduce our team members!

Meet Esteban "Tongo," the Master Artisan & Candombe Heritage Specialist at Acheré Percussion. Tongo is an Afro-Uruguayan percussionist and a master drum maker. He is a descendent of a traditional Afro-Uruguayan Candombe family, one of a few families that preserved the socio-cultural heritage of Candombe as a way of life. His studies in hand drumming cover Latin America, particularly Afro-Uruguayan and Afro-Cuban music.

Tongo currently has availability for Latin percussion hand drumming classes in the City of Brotherly Love & Sisterly Affection. For more info about his classes, feel free to contact Acheré Percussion by direct message on Instagram or Messenger.
