Trunc, is an artisan boutique that sells handmade gifts and clothing and vintage lighting and furniture. Artisans that want to join our community have three requirements: All items have to be handmade, their art has to tell a story, and every artist has to host an event at the boutique. Trunc’s ambiance is itself a work of art. The walls are strewn with abstract and contemporary paintings while re

cessed lighting illuminates mahogany-stained shelves. Warm earth tones fill the room as soft R&B music lulls visitors into a soulful state. The store at 929 N. Second Street doubles as an event space, hosting fashion shows, play readings, and small concerts. But for owners Dorothea Gamble and Dagmar Mitchell, both 63, bridging the gap between local artists and consumers remains the paramount focus.

Wow — Perry just opened his second Ma Lessie’s Chicken & Waffles, and this one is in the Fashion District. Just like his location in Reading Terminal, the presentation is on point. It’s truly spectacular. My photos don’t even come close to capturing it. You’ll have to stop in and see it for yourself.

With everything small businesses are facing right now, it’s a beautiful thing to see one of us winning.

The next event is with Leslie Short The Cavu Group Leslie will be reading from her book "Someone Has to be First". Because Leslie's story starts out as a professional dancer, we have Simpson professionally trained ballet dancer performing.
