Banjo Talk

Banjo Talk Hello and Thank you for visiting to my page! For people that want to discuss banjos without having to belong to a group. Without you, there would be no me! Vinnie

I am Vinnie Mondello, www.4stringbanjos.com

I had the honor of being inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame in 2025! My name is Vincent ("Vinnie")Mondello
I am 64 yrs old , hail from Pflugerille, TX. Stromberg 4 string tenor banjos are my passion. My Grandfather Frank,Great Uncle Victor and my Father James" Buster" Mondello were prominent banjo players from E.Boston Mass. and playe

d with many bands and orchestras throughout their lives. My Dad grew up playing instruments in Chas and Elmer Stromberg's shop at 40 Hanover St. , E.Boston. My Grandfather met Chas.A.Stromberg at the Thompson-Odell factory in t he early 1900s and worked also with him at the Stromberg shop ,as well as the Fairbanks-Vega Co., building and testing instruments. My Dad passed away 1-27-2011 and I am doing what I can to keep the family history involved in 4 string banjo. Thank you all for your support over the years.

Work page update.
Almost done, this one played great on the first try, I know it will be VG when dialed in. It is nice when they act right, when they come out of the gate!
Nice to be able to keep one of these in tenor configuration, I hope it gets a home and stays that way.

Something to work on in my spare time.
Of which I have "ZERO"

It is always good to hear back on a repair job. Sometimes here "in the trenches" I need to hear positive things to allow myself to even think that I have my skills still intact. No one gets younger, and time takes it's toll. I am not the guy that feels he has a handle on "everything banjo" I am the guy that takes each banjo and looks for the good in them, no matter the condition in which they arrive.
Thanks Steve, for your kind words on the Orpheum 3 12" tenor.
VM

"I just wanted to tell you that the Orpheum is terrific. I’ve really enjoyed playing it since I got it back. Absolutely top notch.

Thanks again. More headed your way."
