🎃 Fri. Oct. 23rd Closing Early Time TBD as we partake in a Foster family tradition!

🍬CLOSED Sat. October 24th as we participate in the Boyle County Library Trick-or-Treat from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. We will then head over to Pioneer Playhouse for the Trick-or-Treat Off the Street from 5:00-Dusk. I will have both flyers posted in the comments for more information!

👻 Thurs. October 29th @ 10:30 we will be having a Halloween themed Story-Time! This is a free event geared towards ages 0-5.

🎃 Sat. October 31st HALLOWEEN
Book Signing with Author Clay Pruitt beginning at Noon.

We will have extended hours on Halloween as we participate in Perryville's City Wide Trick-or-Treat Event which takes place from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.

It's going to be busy for the next few weeks, but my Autumn soul is thriving!

Introducing our new monthly book club! 📖✨

Join us on Thursday, November 5th from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM for a cozy and casual after-hours book chat.

Inspired by a book club meeting I attended a few years ago, (thank you Bryana Miracle for this wonderful idea 🤍) we will share our favorite books, current reads, or recommendations in lieu of reading the same book together. This allows us the opportunity to expand our TBR list, share the books we love, and discover something new!

Happy Friday! 🍁🍂

It finally feels like Fall and it's the perfect time to curl up with The October Country by Ray Bradbury.

This is a collection of spooky and macabre short-stories that are bite sized and perfect to read in any order at any time. Two of my personal favorite short stories from this collection are The Scythe and Skeleton.

For some reason when I read this book, it feels like how it did as a kid when you read under the covers with a flashlight reading a spooky book way past your bedtime. 🔦👻

A mysterious, whimsical seasonal classic. I remember so vividly hearing this for the first time in elementary school when my teacher read it to our class. It has stuck with me ever since!

After a much needed Fall Break with my family we will be back at the store on Tuesday and will resume regular store hours this week! I'm feeling much more rested, refreshed, and ready to chat with you about what I've been reading lately, and some other fun updates! ✨

As Banned Books Week comes to a close, I wanted to end with a children’s book. And Tango Makes Three by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell at its heart is a story about love and family.

​Based on a true story, it follows two male chinstrap penguins Roy and Silo at the Central Park Zoo who initially try to hatch a stone together. Seeing their care, a zookeeper gives them an egg to foster. Together, they build a nest, hatch the egg, and raise their chick, Tango.🐧🐧🥚

​Despite being a true story, this book is frequently challenged for depicting a same-sex penguin couple. Yet, it does a wonderful job showing different family structures in a heartwarming, accepting way. ❤️

WOW! Thank you so much to everyone who flew in today for our 1st Annual Crow Party! We had a much bigger turnout than I expected, and I can't thank you enough! 🐦‍⬛🍂🍁

It was SO much fun seeing everyone dressed up, swapping trinkets with each other, and just having a wonderful sense of community. A sincere thank you to everyone who was able to join us!
