We're excited to launch our first Kids Maker Workshops at Grass Roots!

This June, young creators will have the chance to build, imagine, paint, and create alongside local artists using reclaimed and creative materials.

Create a one-of-a-kind miniature world inside a reclaimed shadow box with Kelleigh Bossa.

🎨 Father's Day Frame & Art Workshop
Create colorful framed artwork and handmade gifts for Dad with Heidi Bisbee and Dan Navalta.

💲 $25 per workshop

Workshops are intentionally small to allow plenty of creative support and hands-on time.

UPDATE: All jars SOLD.

Ready for canning season?

We've sorted and boxed up a collection of used canning jars that recently came through Grass Roots.

Available now:
• Quart jars (Ball, Kerr, and mixed)
• Pint jars
• Wide-mouth jars
• Jelly jars

These are older jars that have been stored and will need a good washing, but they are ready for a second life in the pantry, garden, workshop, or canning kitchen.

To keep things simple, we've already sorted them into boxes by size and type. No digging through piles. Just pick a box and take it home.

Prices start at $5 per box.

The Grass Roots "field office" was open today.

While the shop was quiet, work continued at one of our current barn reclamation projects.

Piece by piece, flooring, siding, and framing are being sorted and saved for future use. It's slower than demolition, but that's kind of the point.

Many people see the finished stacks of reclaimed lumber at Grass Roots. Fewer get to see where it starts.

These hands-on workshops are designed to encourage creativity, imagination, and making by hand using reclaimed and creative materials in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Mini Worlds & Big Imaginations
with Kelleigh Bossa
Saturday, June 13 • 1:00–4:00 PM

Kids will create tiny imaginative worlds using reclaimed boxes, found objects, vintage treasures, and creative reuse materials.

Father’s Day Frame & Art
with Heidi Bisbee & Dan Navalta
Sunday, June 14 • 2:00–3:30 PM

Kids will create colorful framed artwork and handmade gifts for Dad using reclaimed frames, paint, texture, and creative materials.
