Awesome old Peavey T-60 in the shop this week. Needed a full rewire and new pots after years of people making an absolute mess in there. A fret level. Setup. And I brought the pickguard back from the super glue abyss with some careful sanding and buffing. Standing tall now and ready to break some backs and hearts. These T-60’s sound incredible when fully dialed in.

Go catch to see it in action.

It’s been a loooong time since I’ve posted on here. I frequently get questions like “are you still even doing repairs cause you never post?”, so I figured I would finally do one.

Honestly, I just don’t really like doing the social media thing, have always felt weird about advertising myself, and the shop has been so busy that I haven’t made it a priority. I am absolutely still doing repairs and the shop stays busy all the time, so hit me up. Maybe I’ll try to do more of these. 🤷‍♀️

Figured I would feature these two. Go check out this Saturday downtown Peoria at the Riverfront stage. Always stoked to get these shredder’s ripsticks dialed in. On the strat I did a refret with the most excellent fret wire, installed a , rewired the electronics with nice cloth wire, and swapped it over to this rad pickguard picked up. ‘s bass got a much needed fret level, all new stealthy hardware, and a rewire with a set of pickups. Both are sounding on point so catch ‘em in action this weekend!

Today’s the day. is a book lovingly created to document the Peoria underground punk scene and today we will be celebrating with an all day show highlighting some of those bands. I feel lucky to have worked on a whole lot of amazing musicians in the Peoria DIY and underground scene’s gear and I decided to specifically highlight a few that may be used today, and one specifically I know we all wish was gonna be played. 🖤🖤🖤

Much love to all my brothers and sisters in the Peoria music scene. See ya in a few minutes. Also my band, , goes on at 4pm. 😉🥰😚

I’ll be gone July 21st - August 4th. I have been slammed and probably can’t take anything else on before I leave. But if you desperately need something let me know ASAP and I’ll see if I can make it happen.

This tele has probably been played in the Peoria clubs/bars by Russell Miller more nights of the week than it gets to rest. It had already had its frets replaced once but they were worn down again and the board was in need of a total overhaul. Also He wanted to go down to a 9.5” radius to be able to get more travel on his bends.

So I ripped the frets out, re-planed the board dead straight at 9.5”, put in some high quality frets that were more the height and width he ideally wanted, refinished the fret board in fresh lacquer and color matched it with tone up to get the same slightly darker aged amber color going on with the rest of the neck (we left the sides of the neck worn down to bare wood cause he put in the effort and years to get ‘em that way, nice and smooth), new bone nut, and a deep clean and a meticulous setup to play exactly how he wanted it.

Thing is better than brand new and he’s been out putting it through it’s paces all over again. Check out Peoria Rhythm Kings if you’re out on the town. 🙌

I haven’t posted in a long time but the shop has been busier than ever. I’m gonna try to start getting back into the habit and post some highlights of all the awesome stuff I’ve worked on over the last year. Let’s start it off with this absolutely gorgeous guitar I just finished up last week. Shout out to my dude Tanner from the band and this amazing 60’s es-335. After 50+ years it was in pretty rough shape and needed a major overhaul. A full refret (firstly truing the fretboard itself), hand carved bone nut, a riff raff in the bridge to replace an ailing paf, new bridge, all the other electronics pulled out, gone through and deep cleaned (and all kept original), a full detail including swirl and haze removal, and finally a thorough setup and dialing in. The result was incredible. The best playing and sounding ES I’ve ever had in my hands and I’m stoked it’s gonna be used by someone who will put it to work rather than let it sit in a case. This guitar is now ready for its next 50+ years of life.

Get at me if you need something!

Been completely redoing my vintage MIJ Suntech strat. Added a 22nd fret extension, changed it to a 14” radius, and installed these awesome brass fret dots. When it’s totally finished I’ll do some process shots from start to finish.

Couple of from a few months back. The first one was a retrofit for the anthem pickup (which sounded amazing) and the second was a full refret, neck reset, and setup. My client confirmed the fret job played, felt, and sounded far better than it ever did new.

I’m all caught up this week, so hit me up if you need something. Be safe and well. 🖤🖤🖤

Slightly challenging install requiring routing, making leather gaskets, and some pickguard customization to accommodate these massive tone machines. Can’t wait until quarantine is over to catch these in action.

Gorgeous 60th anniversary Fender American made tele (2006). Mint condition. $1000 obo

I don’t normally sell stuff but I’m helping the owner sell this guitar, so please get in touch if you’re interested. These normally go for 1200-1500 so it’s a pretty good deal.
Just set it up and will adjust it for different tuning/strings if you want to buy it and prefer something other than standard tuning/10 gauge strings. This ones a chunk. Definitely not a lightweight. Super chimey. Very impressed with this tele.

Whiskeytown will remain OPEN, as I work entirely alone and have almost zero human contact besides distanced picking up or dropping off guitars. The only thing that will change is that I ask all payments be made with PayPal for the time being and I won’t be shaking hands. Please call me to setup an appointment if you wanna bring something in.

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated here because I’ve been crazy busy. Here are some guitars from months and months back. I’ll try to start posting more during this period so you can have some pretty stuff to look at.

Please everyone stay safe and write your next two or three albums while you’re quarantined.

Love to you all, we will get through this. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Couple of jazzmasters I worked on a few months back. First one is a gorgeous ‘62 reissue. Spent some time getting rid of the usual jazzmaster rattles and wonkiness and got this thing dialed in perfect with a better aftermarket bridge. Next one is a simple squire in for a setup, but it’s still pretty in mint and played great once everything was where it should be.
